When is Rodeo Idol?

You must be 14 years or older as of January 23, 2010 (the day of auditions). There is no upper age limit and we would welcome adults of any age to compete!

Can I use a guitar (or other instruments) during auditions?
No, this is a voice competition only. No instruments may be used during auditions or performances. Please leave your guitars, keyboards, and xylophones at home.

Do I have to have any professional singing experience?
No, professional experience is not required for this contest. We welcome anyone who meets the other qualifications to tryout.

What kind of music can I sing?
We would like for you to sing whatever genre of music moves you. The more heart you put in your music the better chance you have. Past years we've had everything from Christian to rap and Broadway to Blues. Pick a song that fits your voice style and you enjoy singing.

Do I have to sing country?
Not at all! Just because this is a rodeo doesn't mean we only listen to country. Your voice is more important than the style of music.

Who is judging this thing?
Did you think we would tell you? That wouldn't be much fun. We can tell you the auditions will be judged by people that know music on a professional level. The internet voting rounds will be judged by the general public (anyone and everyone) based on video of your performances.
