Audition Process
| When: | January, 23 2010 |
| Where: | Sunset Mall in San Angelo, TX |
| What: | San Angelo Rodeo Idol Auditions |
| Why: | Selection of 10 contestants to progress to the voting round of Rodeo Idol. In order to sing at the San Angelo Rodeo you must audition here. |
Year after year the San Angelo Rodeo fields calls from those wanting to sing the National Anthem at the events. Rodeo Idol was created to level the playing field by turning it into a contest. It has turned into much more than that though.
Rodeo Idol has become a showcase for the singing voices of San Angelo and the surrounding areas. People of all ages have tried out to become the local champion. In its third year we expect the turnout of talent to be fantastic.
Contestants begin lining up in the morning for the opportunity of singing on the big stage. Only the first 100 singers or duet teams in line are guaranteed to sign before the public audience. Registration begins at 10:00am sharp. Any person in line after the first 100 are registered will be required to go through a pre-screening stage. Singing on the public stage and pre-screening stage start at 1:00pm. Those that sing on the public stage will be critiqued by a panel of 3-5 judges. At the end of the day these judges with careful deliberation will select their top 10 list. The top 10 will be posted to the internet along with their audition/performance videos and the public will go through a series of voting rounds to select the 2010 Rodeo Idol Champion. In past years votes have come in from all over the United States and several other countries.
Even if you don’t want to compete please come out and join us at Sunset Mall for the auditions. Competitors and fans alike are treated to an afternoon of music ranging from rap to country to Broadway hits.
